Mambo Convertor Download

Description:

Utility to convert a Joomla 1.0.x site to Mambo. To achieve the conversion, simply install this component, using the Joomla installer - component. The process of installation will make small modifications to the database to make the site run with Mambo.

The next step is to unzip Mambo 4.5.3h into your web server in the same location previously used by Joomla. Unless you are going to make an immediate upgrade to Mambo 4.6, you should then install the Security Patch from 20 February 2006, which you can find at The Source

You are now likely to see an error because of the missing variable $mosConfig_register_globals in the configuration.php file. You should go the admin side, Site Configuration, Server tab.

Decide whether you want register_globals emulation to be on or off:

• Some third party components will only work with register_globals set to on.
• Otherwise, it is more secure to run with register_globals set to off.

Once you have made your selection, click on the "Save" icon in the toolbar.

You should not see any errors after this, in connection with the conversion.

You may, however, have problems if you are running any software that has been written to use the small number of Joomla specific features that do not exist in Mambo. This can only be resolved through discussion with the author of the software.
