Mambo Installer Download

Description:

Mambo installer for use where neither command line nor file manager facilities are readily available.  The installer is a single file that is uploaded (e.g. by FTP) to the web server location where Mambo is to be installed.  NOTE that this location should be protected in some way (e.g. by .htaccess passwording) from general use, as the installer is capable of uploading and unarchiving ANYTHING!

Once uploaded, it is then run through a browser - for example by requesting  http://www.mydomain.com/mamboinstaller.php.  The installer offers the ability to upload a file (the PHP parameters must be set so that a large file upload can be handled).  You can browse the local file system in the usual way, to select the Mambo package.  It will be uploaded, expanded and the files and directories will have default permissions set.  Further adjustment may be required. 

Once this process is completed, mamboinstaller.php can be deleted and a normal Mambo installation process carried out.  At the end of this, the passwording will need to be removed.
